14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, 15 while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.
16 As the ark of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart.
17 They brought the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before the Lord. 18 After he had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord Almighty. 19 Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins to each person in the whole crowd of Israelites, both men and women. And all the people went to their homes.
20 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!”
21 David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the Lord. 22 I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.”
8 I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. 9 Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10 Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.’
11 “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. 12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”
I think we Ought to be Very Interested in the Period of Judaism and Christianity just after Jesus Died. Thanks to the Nag Hammadi Scriptures we can Decipher than Gnostic Greek Christianity, and we can see why they accepted Jesus wholeheartedly (some of them even saying Jesus didn't die on the Cross, which could be less or more wholehearted depending on the reason each Person held this belief in the Gnostic Community). But there were also the Copts, or Coptic Christians, and the Jews were still there. The Pharisees and the Sadducee did not get removed after Jesus, he was Talking about and to People who were there before and After he Died.
The Nag Hammadi Scriptures should be seen as like a Rosetta Stone, they can help Translate meanings that Christians were using, opposed to Romans and those around Cleopatra who was nearly contemporary (Cleopatra 70 BC-30 BC). Though Jesus was a Monotheist as well as all of the Jews around him, so this indicates that Zoroaster influenced all of their Religion already, but Enoch had been Written (St. Jude Mentions Enoch in the 2 Page Book, "The Book of Jude"). But the Nag Hammadi Scriptures can be seen as like a Rosetta Stone, and Everyone should be seeking MORE of these Things, the 1940s shouldn't be the last Time anything Great was Found to Help us Translate. That's around when the Dead Sea Scrolls were Found also. People need to Start looking around the Dirt like ISIS was. ISIS was looking for this Stuff, and they were DESTROYING ALL OF IT.
But this Time after Jesus, we can look at some Things that were Happening, because After Jesus it's not like the Jews went and hid under a Rock while Jesus became the most Popular Thing in the World. In Fact, before the Muslims even Existed, the Crusades were against a Mass Population of Jews in the Middle East.
Just after Jesus died within just a few Years, Rome had Documents of a "Chrestus" which is likely to be Christus, and they were Blaming Chrestus for Stirring up the Jews (in, "The Life of the Deified Claudius"). And Twenty Years Later Tacitus said Nero was Persecuting Christians, and even said the Christians were Devoted to Christus and that he was Executed by Pilate (in, Annals, Tacitus). Josephus is thought to have Written about Jesus in "The Antiquities of the Jews". But the Rabbis continued on. Everyone should Start Learning about these Rabbis, to Learn about Rome and Israel after Jesus:
Hoshaiah Rabbah, Compiler of Baraitot explaining the Mishnah-Tosefta.
Samuel of Nehardea, who was a Rabbi, Judge, Physician and Astronomer, and Debated Abba Arikha.
Bar Kappara, who was a Scholar but wasn't allowed to be Rabbi in the Syrio-Palestine Roman Capital.
Hiyya the Great, who was the Primary Compiler of the Tosefta, he was Uncle and Teacher of Abba Arikha.
Jose ben Judah, who was involved in Pedantic Laws (as were others here) that are still applied Today and have Helped with Situations like Figuring out of Air Travel is Kosher.
Hillel the Babylonian, or Hillel the Great, was associated with the development of the Mishnah and the Talmud.
Nathan the Babylonian, who may have Written a kind of Tosefta to Pirkei Avot, and Baraita Mem Tet Middot, as well as Collaborate on the Mishnah.
Judah ha-Nasi, sometimes just called Rabbi, is Chief Redactor and Editor of the Mishnah.
Maimonids, or the Rambam (He who can Bring Peace between Muslims and Jews), was a Rabbi who Traveled around the Arab-Jewish World, he was an Astronomer and Physician, his Writings are considered some of the most Accurate, like a Bibliotheca or Metamorphosis, like Ovid's Book and some like Galen's Writing. The Rambam brought Everything together. He Wrote the Mishneh Torah, Commentary on the Mishnah, Sefer Hamitzvote, Sefer Ha'shamad, The Guide for the Perplexed, Teshuvot, Hikhot ha-Yerushalmi, the Art of Cure, Regimen Sanitatis, Commentary on Aphorisms of Hippocrates, Medical Aphorisms or Moses, Treatise on Cohabitation, Treatise on Asthma, Treaties on Poisons and Their Antidotes, Regimen of Health, Glossary of Drug Names.
