Introduction: The Rastafari movement, rooted in Jamaica during the early 20th century, is a religious and social movement that emerged as a powerful voice against oppression and inequality. Rejecting the term "-ism," Rastafari is often referred to as a lifestyle and a spiritual philosophy rather than a formalized religion. This movement, deeply influenced by African and Jamaican traditions, has gained international recognition, largely due to its association with reggae music and iconic figures like Bob Marley.

Early Roots in Jamaica: The origins of the Rastafari movement can be traced back to Jamaica in the 1930s, a time of immense social and political upheaval. The movement was born out of the desire for spiritual and social liberation among the Afro-Jamaican community, which faced the harsh realities of colonialism and discrimination.

Marcus Garvey and the Back-to-Africa Movement: Central to the early Rastafari ideology was the influence of Marcus Garvey, a Jamaican political leader, publisher, journalist, and orator. Garvey's message of black pride, self-reliance, and the repatriation of Africans to their ancestral homeland resonated deeply with the Rastafari followers. Garvey's teachings inspired a sense of identity and purpose among the marginalized Jamaican populace, laying the groundwork for the Rastafari movement.

Haile Selassie I - Emperor of Ethiopia: A pivotal moment in the evolution of the Rastafari movement occurred in 1930 when Haile Selassie I was crowned Emperor of Ethiopia. Rastafarians hailed Selassie as the messianic figure foretold in the Bible, interpreting his coronation as the fulfillment of Marcus Garvey's prophecy: "Look to Africa, when a black king shall be crowned, for the day of deliverance is near." Selassie's divine status in the eyes of Rastafarians led to the veneration of Ethiopia as the spiritual homeland and the belief in the eventual repatriation to Africa.

Rastafari Beliefs and Practices: Rastafari beliefs are deeply rooted in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Rastafarians believe in the divinity of Haile Selassie I, often referring to him as Jah (short for Jehovah, a name for God). They advocate for a return to natural living, which includes a plant-based diet known as Ital, abstaining from alcohol and other substances, and wearing unaltered hair (often forming dreadlocks) as a symbol of their African heritage.

Bob Marley and the Global Spread: The Rastafari movement gained significant international attention in the 1970s, largely due to the global success of reggae music and its most prominent ambassador, Bob Marley. Marley's lyrics often conveyed Rastafari themes of peace, love, and social justice, bringing the movement into the mainstream consciousness. His influence played a crucial role in spreading Rastafari principles and breaking down misconceptions surrounding the movement.

Rastafarian Churches Around the World: Over the years, the Rastafari movement has diversified and spread across the globe. Today, Rastafarian churches can be found not only in Jamaica but also in various countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and several African nations. These churches continue to promote Rastafari values, emphasizing unity, equality, and a deep connection with nature and spirituality.

Conclusion: The Rastafari movement, born out of the desire for spiritual and social liberation, has transcended its origins in Jamaica to become a global cultural and spiritual force. Rejecting the label of an "-ism," Rastafari offers a unique perspective on faith, identity, and social justice. Its influence on music, art, and social movements continues to be felt worldwide, making it a testament to the enduring power of spiritual rebellion and cultural pride.

People Generally know some of the Basic Origins of Rastafarianism, and know about Bob Marley, but many don't know the kind of "Secret History" of Rastafarianism, and the Van Kush Family has been Teaching about this. There are also now several Thesis that have been Written about this, there are Doctors being made on the Van Kush Family Teachings, if you Follow our Teaching you could be a Doctor, like get your PhD with a Thesis and Everything, you can do that with the Van Kush Family, and it has been being done. There are Doctors around the World that have been made by the Van Kush Family, entering New Things into Journals Everyday, shaping our Future, just like we are here on VanKushFamily.com. So, I want to get into what you would Learn if you were to Read one of the Thesis Papers I am Talking about.

Let's Start with Christopher Columbus who said he Discovered India, and some Believed him, and in his Lifetime he was Proven to be Wrong but until he Died continued Selling it as a Route to India. So, Indians came to America, and Helped with the Translations, and did many Things. But, Christopher Columbus Started in the Bahamas, that is where he First Landed in 1492 when Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue. The Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. That was all in the Bahamas, and it has Actually Influenced that Area, we have called it for now like 400 Years, "The West Indies", and there was the East Indies, and the "East India Trade Company" connecting it all, a Capitalist Organization that was within the British Empire, and you can see the Resemblance of the US Flag to this Organization. Things were Borrowed from the Sioux Nation, from Scotland, from all over, and they Formed the United States, also all Talking about like Cesar and Things. Hamilton thought Cesar was the Greatest Man to ever Live, Thomas Jefferson thought Cesar was a man of Cesar's Time.

So there was India, the West Indies, and the East Indies, and some Connections. This is how the Tea got from China to Britain, and the Coffee and Marijuana from Africa, Arabia and India to Amsterdam. And there were Indian People going to the West Indies, at First some of them were Travelers and Things, then People Started taking Slaves, it wasn't all the Ghana Area, a lot of the Slave Taking was Happening in East Africa also, and to India from that Direction though, California didn't exist then or it would Probably have a Different History. So People were all Moving around, and the Religious Knowledge, and the Plants, they all Mixed around. Some People in America they have been Told by their Grandparents and Things at some Point that they are Indian, and sometimes it's not Native America, it's Indian.

So then Rastafarianism, Everyone knows about the Marijuana, and about the Emperor, maybe they know about the Emperor Visiting America and Jamaica, it Rained when he was there, which hadn't happened for a while, and they said he was Jesus Returned. So this is a Movement that Believes that Jesus has come to Earth a 2nd Time, that is part of Rastafarianism. And the General Basic Religious Part of it comes from the Ethiopian Orthodox, the Emperor did not Necessarily go around as like a Rabbi, he was like a King, and Visited America like any King, but since then Ethiopia has kind of Lost some of that Regalia and Everything. But, the Point being that the Rastafarians got their Religious Roots from the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, the Emperor being of the Tribe of Judah, and so he is a King in the Line of King David is the Rastafarian Position. And the Marijuana, comes from even more Ancient Connections. The Thesis you Read might tell you, it is Columbus, and it is the East and West Indies being Connected to India, and it is, that is why it is in Jamaica, and the Caribbean is seen as like it is. But there is another Connection there between Aethiopia, and India. There used to be the Aethiopian Sea, like 3,000 B.C. all the Water around Africa, they knew about it and they just called it "The Aethiopian Sea", King Memnon was at Troy, and came from like past Spain and Morocco, out past the Strait of Gibraltar, King Memnon is just out there, and he is the King of Aethiopia, like Egypt to a Roman.

This is where the Marijuana or Hemp comes from in Rastifarianism, an example is the Marsala War Ship that was Found with Marijuana or Hemp.

Rastafari Groundation and Marijuana Smoking Ceremonies: A Spiritual Journey

Introduction: Rastafari, a spiritual movement that originated in Jamaica in the early 20th century, embraces the use of marijuana as a sacrament. Rooted in African traditions and inspired by biblical references, Rastafarians view marijuana as a sacred herb that aids in meditation, facilitates communal bonding, and enhances spiritual awareness. This article explores Rastafari groundation, the act of coming together in a spiritual gathering, and various marijuana smoking ceremonies and holidays observed within the Rastafari community.

Rastafari Groundation: Rastafari groundation is a communal gathering that involves prayer, meditation, music, and the sacramental use of marijuana. These gatherings serve as opportunities for Rastafarians to connect spiritually, share insights, and reinforce their faith in the divinity of Haile Selassie I. Groundations often take place in a natural setting, emphasizing the importance of the earth and its connection to spirituality.

Marijuana Smoking Ceremonies: Within the Rastafari community, marijuana smoking ceremonies hold significant spiritual importance. The act of smoking marijuana, often referred to as "reasoning," is seen as a means of communing with the divine and achieving a higher state of consciousness. During these ceremonies, participants gather in a circle, share the sacramental herb, and engage in discussions about faith, philosophy, and social issues. Music, particularly reggae, plays a central role in enhancing the spiritual atmosphere.

Rastafari Marijuana Holidays:

  1. Grounation Day (April 21): Celebrated in honor of Haile Selassie I's visit to Jamaica in 1966, this day marks a significant event in Rastafari history. It is a time for spiritual reflection, communal gatherings, and the sacramental use of marijuana.

  2. Ethiopian Christmas (January 7): Rastafarians observe Ethiopian Christmas, known as Genna, as the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a time for prayer, feasting, and the sacramental use of marijuana.

  3. Coronation Day (November 2): Commemorating the coronation of Haile Selassie I as Emperor of Ethiopia in 1930, this day holds great significance for Rastafarians. The occasion is marked with religious ceremonies, music, and the use of marijuana as a sacrament.

  4. Bob Marley's Earthstrong (February 6): Rastafarians celebrate the birthday of reggae icon Bob Marley with music, prayer, and the sacramental use of marijuana. Marley's contributions to the global recognition of Rastafari make this day special for followers.

  5. Ras Tafari Makonnen's Earthstrong (July 23): Commemorating the birth of Ras Tafari Makonnen, the birth name of Haile Selassie I, this day is observed with prayer, meditation, and the sacramental use of marijuana.

  6. Nyabinghi Celebrations: Nyabinghi is a form of Rastafari worship that involves drumming, chanting, and the sacramental use of marijuana. Nyabinghi celebrations can occur on various dates and serve as important religious events within the Rastafari community.

Conclusion: Rastafari groundation and marijuana smoking ceremonies are integral aspects of the spiritual and communal life of Rastafarians. Through these practices and the observance of specific holidays, Rastafarians strengthen their faith, bond with fellow believers, and celebrate their cultural and spiritual heritage. These rituals, rooted in a deep connection with nature and a profound sense of spirituality, continue to shape the identity of the Rastafari movement worldwide.

Rastafarians are Christians, some of them might say they are not Christians, there may be some that say they are Jewish, Saphardic and Things, who were Involved with Christopher Columbus, and Financing Things, all that History of Jewish People Funding Everything, it's a lot like Muslims, like a lot of those Countries aren't what they were, and the Saphardic Jews aren't some Evil Force that some People make "the Jews" to be when they are talking about them as a whole and not talking about their Contributions to History in the Right Context. But the Point being that Rastafarians are Christian or Jewish. The Definitely get their Religion from the Bible.

But, if you Study Shaivism, the Religion of the Hindu God, Lord Shiva, Lord of the Dance, Lord of Bhang (Marijuana), if you Study this, you will Find that this is where the Indian Influence came Directly in to the Caribbean. Elephants don't even Really come from Africa, they come from India. All the Elephants they would bring into the Zoos to show Everyone what they were Finding in Africa, they actually got those Elephants from India. And the Rastafarians have Dreadlocks, which is like being a Sadhu, being a Sadhu is an Entire Part of the Hindu Life Cycle, you are Supposed to do Different Things in Your Life, and Hinduism Proscribes these Things for you, like a Muslim going to Mecca, called the Haj Pilgrimage, or just Haj. The Hindu Life Cycle includes being a Sadhu, or a Baba, kind of a Guru, or a Reverend, a Priest, or a Monk, etc, this all usually Works on Alms, the Hindu Sadhus have like Begging Bowls and Shiva is Considered the Supreme Mendicant (One who goes about asking for Alms, or more simply put "Beggar", so "The Supreme Beggar"), Shiva takes this Form after Chopping Off Brahma's Head, so as to Restore Karmic Balance, it is kind of a Punishment. In this form he is Followed around by Dogs and Love Sick Women, and he has Sex with Everyone's Wives, and Leaves them the Shiva Lingum. This also is how Buddhist Monks Work, the People of the City Learn from them, and know that is where all the Ancient Wisdom is, and they Bring them Rice and Things to Cook or Eat, and Donate Money the same way someone might to a Church. If you have a Successful Business, and you Live somewhere, and you Practice a Religion, you might Spend Money Building up that Community you are a Part of, so that your Children have that in their Lives, and so do you, that might Lead to Donations in the Form of Alms, this is the Kind of Things that Alms do. The Poor Knights of Christ and Things did this also, which became the Templars.

And the Rastafarians and Sadhus both Grow Dreadlocks, so you can Directly see the Marijuana Smoking and Dreadlocks from India in the West Indies. But, these are not something that maybe the Ethiopian Orthodox version of the Pope would say are Part of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, but they are not Foreign to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and not only because of Rastafarians. This all Happened for a Reason. They used to Call the Romani People Gypsies Literally because they Thought they were Egyptian, and the Phrase "Bohemian" we might associate those Styles with the Bahamas, all of these Things, Christopher Columbus Thought he was in India. None of these are Accidents.
